The difference a handle makes.

Regular dumbell handle = 8-15 reps Big dumbell handle, same weight = 2-5 reps. Thick handles mean stronger hands and arms. Some light kettle bell work, followed by some thick handle curls = a good end to the day.

    • I had an odd number of dumbells of the same weightweight, 50lb. Wrapped the handle in plastic wrap from the kitchen in case I ever wanted to use the handle again without having to clean off the glue. Then you just wrap the handle in lots of duct tape until you get to the desired thickness.

2 inches is a good diameter to start with. 2.5 inches and 3 inches are where it starts to get interesting.

Cheap and easy, and if you don’t want it on the dumbell anymore just cut it off and it’s all back to normal. Give it a shot, and see how you like it.

  2. Yeah, I think I’ll give it a go. I do most of my work at the local gym, but I’ve got some extra dumbbells lying around, which would work for this sort of thing.

Thanks for the heads up on putting the cling wrap on first 🙂
